Preview: Land of Dries, Diamonds and Darkness

I spent a bit of time in Antwerp over the holidays.
It was like falling into a Hilary Mantel novel.

It was cold.
It was foggy.
It was wet.
(All photos by LBG.)

It was velvet.
It was brass.
It was leather.

It was meat.
It was marzipan.
It was potatoes.

It was decadence.
It was depravity.
It was Dries Van Noten.

And it was darkness.

I'm working on a post about it now.
But I wanted to check in with everyone and wish you a Happy New Year.

More soon,

Heads up...I caught the Antwerpian design bug and I caught it bad.
(Back in Los Angeles.)

The photography and settings are beautiful. Especially like the candles and how you caught the lighting so well.

Thank you for this beautiful New Year's greeting. I have never visited Antwerp (or even Los Angeles) but think that they must be two very different places.

Very amusing to see how you are adapting your home to an Antwerp flavor. What do you do with the sunshine?

Great pic's! I look forward to seeing more from Antwerp. The weather there is very similar to my home in teh Pacific Northwest.

Glad to see someone else coming to the dark side of the force. All white/neutral rooms have given me chronic irritation syndrome. Looking forward to seeing your world of triple D's.

What beautiful places you visited there. The Church and some of those houses looks like doll' houses, they are just gorgeous! Glad you had such a wonderful holiday, and have so many memories to treasure. modern house design

This post makes me a little homesick but also happy. Antwerp was my adopted home for two years and we have so many fond memories of the city.

Thanks for sharing ... and happy new year!
