A Plant By Any Other Name

Last week, I went to the fabulous Sunset Nursery for an ivy plant and got completely sidetracked in the ground cover section. Just looking at all that springy moss and young clover made me so happy that I was compelled to bring some grassiness home, not for planting in my yard but for enjoying indoors.

I call this arrangement "Tom Branson" (a la "Downton Abbey") because it's a hunk of Irish moss transplanted into an heirloom silver bowl.  After some initial resistance, it's settling in quite nicely.

This one's the "The Williamsburger" because it's artistically unkempt, upwardly mobile and living in an ultra modern pad built by an international designer.

This arrangement is still looking for a name. It's working some big hair and some major bling. Any ideas?

    Because the pot reminds me of a visit to Marrakech... 'akush'..because every woman needs a little mystery in her life..

    The name Marrakech originates from the Amazigh (Berber) words mur (n) akush, which means "Land of God."

    Hey Lisa,
    Sunset nursery looks great. I am always exploring new plant purveyors. Have you been to Rolling Greens in Culver City? I love visiting there...great plant selection & more pots than you can imagine. I think the name of that last one should be David Lee ( as in David Lee...back in the Day!) LMK what you think about that...

    Don't you love succulents and these frothy little ground cover things? I am crazy about them now and they stay alive despite my best efforts. As my husband says when I come home, "Ahh, more victims!"

    The Tom comment was quality! He looks quite cute in the silver. You've inspired me to get out there with the good weather and get a few more survivors.
