Apologies for the delay in yesterday's post. A "Wuthering Heights" like storm deluged Hollywood on Sunday and left our house in the Victorian age, technologically speaking. I usually don't mind when that happens as it turns the day into one filled with nineteenth century pursuits, but I felt badly that I was incommunicado. As it so happens, I'm now sitting down the street at my neighbor Princess Olga's house typing on her Macbook in order to get this week's webisode out to you.
And now, fingers crossed, "The Domestic Explorer"...
(Oh, and for those who asked, the music is "Prelude" by Alexandre Desplat from the "Birth" soundtrack.)
A lovely webisode once again, Lisa...loved the imagery and even more the beautiful thought behind it...I've long been an admirer of your lovely blog and from this moment on its follower to...keep up the good work...xx meenal
ReplyDeleteI have my Granmother's cast iron skillet and now I also have a new slow cooker that is seasoning my home with lemon and rosemary chicken for dinner.
ReplyDeletewonderful video. (again)

Beautiful. Thank you.
ReplyDeleteAh, that soundtrack! I listen to it daily when stuck in the office and attempting to flee the nonsensical ramblings of my cube-mate.
ReplyDeleteThis webisode makes me long for a place of my own. As a renter living a somewhat temporary existence (wow, that’s quite depressing now that I think about it!), I long to have a place to imbue with some soul!

Beautiful and dreamy Lisa...the music was just lovely (who is it?), and the clickity-clack of an old reel film was charming.
ReplyDeleteHope your able to enter the 21st century again very soon...and thank you!
xo J~
btw- love my cast iron skillet...makes the best pancakes and corn bread. :d
yay! I needed my "fix" :) By the way, Luca is left-handed?
ReplyDeleteA few inches of freshly fallen snow, reminds us that in spite of the calendar~ Mother nature has a few tricks up her sleeve. A Dutch oven filled with the makings of a comforting soup on the stove for dinner tonight. What a lovely jaunt to look forward to each week.
ReplyDeleteUtterly fantastic! Reminds me a bit of the beginning of "Howards End" - a firm favorite of mine. If you keep up these little gems every week I can see an Oscar nod for best short-film. Start practicing your acceptance speech.
ReplyDeletemade me teary. in a good way.
ReplyDeleteBliss!

ReplyDeleteMy son a Head-Chef, once gave gave me a well seasoned and well used baby cast-iron skillet. I will look at it differently now Lisa. It is tucked away, but I am going to put it out near where I work in the kitchen to remind of your beautiful comparison :)
Simply Beautiful!
ReplyDeleteYou, for sure, win the "Warm Fuzzy" award! Thanks for the warm feeling and smile you sent my way today. I love your grateful heart.

ReplyDeleteOh that was beautiful left me a bit weepy but in a nice warm glowy way. What is the music? I love your blog. You are very gifted.
ReplyDeletetoo good!
ReplyDeleteVery touching. Actually left me a bit teary-eyed. I just love these little films!
ReplyDeleteSeasoning a home sounds just right. A dash of embroidered pillow, a cup of quilted coverlet on the sofa.
ReplyDeleteSuper pretty and so true!!
ReplyDeleteI've been a follower of your website for quite a while. I found you when I searched the Internet for travel tips with children. Your long ago posting about taking your son to the museum gift shop first and then finding the real artwork pictured in postcards had me hooked! I adore your style, long for rainy reading days myself and am a bit of an anglophile as well. My copy of Undecorate arrived from Amazon today - I love the whole book!
ReplyDeletewhat an incredibly beautiful touching piece. a picture is worth.....
ReplyDeletedon't ever take this down, it brought me to tears. so absolutely perfect. thank you a thousand times.
security word def "pered" - what i do when i've misplaced my reading glasses.
I like that. And love the music.
ReplyDeleteso lovely!!! It made me cry.Loved the soundtrack!
ReplyDeleteVery evocative soundtrack and video. But I must also add that the idea of a physical abode retaining some emotional remnant of previous inhabitation is really just an excuse for poor houskeeping.
ReplyDeleteClean up
Tidy
Put out the rubbish
That was exquisite and verifiably true.
ReplyDeleteHow lovely - reminds us we can choose to see our own daily lives with the same warmth as if they were cherished memories - someday they will be!
